Annual Flea Market Festival set for July 8, booth registration open

Registration is open for booths at the Finney County Historical Museum’s 14th

Registration is open for booths at the Finney County Historical Museum's 14th Annual Flea Market Festival of Antiques, Collectibles, Art and Crafts, which is coming up 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. July 8, just south of the museum in Garden City's Lee Richardson Zoo.

The event will include two components – an array of vendors in the sun and shade along sidewalks just inside the zoo, and a 2,880 square-foot sale of quality donated goods on the outdoor museum patio and indoor Mary Regan Conference Room.

Public admission will be free and visiting vendors are expected to offer antiques, books, boutique finds, clothing, crafts, collectibles, decorative items, glassware, metal sculpture and utility items, as well as personal care products, purses, and sewn items ranging from quilts and baby blankets to potholders and table toppers.

Organizers are also anticipating splatterware, wood crafts, Tupperware, tools from past times, vintage and contemporary toys, vinyl records and CDs, plus plenty of additional merchandise and both take-home and on-site food.

In addition, donated merchandise has been arriving since January for the patio sale, and acceptance may be curtailed soon because of the extensive collection of goods already given. Among items the museum can't accept are clothing, shoes, books and older-style televisions or computer monitors.

The event is sponsored by Commerce Bank and the Finney County Convention and Visitors Bureau. It will again be conducted in conjunction with the Jungle Run auto show at the zoo.

The 2022 gathering attracted approximately 36 vendors from Kansas, Colorado, Texas and seven Kansas communities, as well as more than 2,500 shoppers from three dozen Kansas towns and three neighboring states.

The number for registration and information is 620-272-3664. Fees include $55 per booth space or $65 for spaces with electricity.
